How automatic format detection works

The identifier applies a chain of heuristics: digit count and check-digit validation for GTIN family codes; ISBN-10 vs ISBN-13 rules including 978/979 prefixes; URL patterns for GS1 Digital Link; fixed lengths for VIN (17) and IMEI (15); and alphanumeric patterns for ASIN.
